Is your business a micro or small business?​

As of December 2018, there were 1.2 million employer businesses in Canada. Of these, 1.18 million (97.9 percent) were small businesses, 22,266 (1.9 percent) were medium-sized businesses and 3,010 (0.2 percent) were large businesses.

• Micro businesses (1 to 4 paid employees) account for 654,196 - 54.3% of all employer business establishments in Canada

In 2018, Canada's exports of goods increased to $522.8 billion, of which 41.1 percent was attributable to SMEs. More than 50,000 Canadian establishments exported goods, the vast majority of which were SMEs (97.4 percent).
